Areas of Mallorca – Southeast and East
The southeast/east encompasses from Porto Cristo to Porto Colom, including the resorts of Cala D’Or and Porto Petro. The towns are approximately a 50 minute drive from Palma.
Porto Colom
Porto Colom is on of the few villages in Mallorca that still conserves part of that authentic old fishing harbor charm. The promenade by the harbor is lined on one side with small fishing boats and on the other side with some of Mallorca most picturesque and exquisite restaurants. A little bit more inland, is the village of Felanitx with a market and many stores.
Cala D’Or
Cala D’Or is one of the most popular little resorts here in the southeast is Cala d’Or. It is located in a romantic bay and all the houses are white washed Ibizan style. There is a fabulous luxury marina with very good restaurants.
Porto Petro
A little bit more south of Cala D’Or is Porto Petro. Porto Petro is a tiny harbor with charming bars and restaurants running up and down its waterfront promenade.
The traditional resorts around Porto Colom, Porto Petro and Cala D’Or are all currently undergoing refurbishment to improve the general infrastructure of the harbour area and town. There is a great range of property in this area: both newly built and resale properties with lots of character. Prices start from 270 000 Euro for a newly built 2 bedroom apartment up to 2 or 3 million Euro for a country house around the Felanitx Area.
